Opportunity

When we are born into this world....this place we call home; we are all taught that a chair is an object that we sit our derriere on. This chair most always has four legs. We learned this from our parents, sisters, brothers...the list goes on....uncles, grandmother, etc. As children, we have no reason to disbelieve those things that have been taught....or better said, been "passed down" to us.

Even school teachers are told to "pass down" to their students that Columbus, did in fact, discover the US.

We take for granted those things that we were told, do exist.

While the above examples show a lack of credability within the revisionist authors, how do we as the people act...or react? Do we continue perpetrating the fraud? Do we speak up? This does to some extent, test your character makeup. What if you did not realize that the above was neither true nor false?

Throughout the last few weeks, I've been asking you how much of a time committment you were willing to give to this project? I know I've been harping on it a bit but this was really a trick question...keep in mind, I wasn't planning a trick question but now that I've re-evaluated the original questions, I feel the need to clarify...or expound on a previous blog. I hate when that happens!!!

Really, the question comes in two parts: 1. How many hours per week are you willing to committ to finding what it is you're here to do? 2. What will you do if you fail? The only thing I need to hear from you is that failure is NOT an option. Say It!!!!

You're reading this for a number reasons; hopefully one of them is not to harrass me! I'm sincerely hoping that you are coming back because I've made something indellable. I couldn't care less if you 'found the cleaning service right for you'.

If you feel that you've got this certain gift for the stock market, be my guest - have at it. If you feel that this is your calling, I'm down with you. Heck, maybe you'll be the one to call some people out on the carpet and fix what is broken. If you are the one that has the ability to fix this mess, I might even purchase something.

Whatever you want to become, my only want is for your happiness. Everyone deserves happiness in thier lives. For those that are 'lost' to a certain extent and trying to redefine themselves into a new capitalist form, I believe I have some of the answers you're searching for.

I've said this countless times here but what is it that drives you? Your current employer may not be around tomorrow or the next day or the day after that. Now is the time to push it into overdrive; you know what needs to be done. Take a long look at my past blogs. For those that are the late bloomers, what can I say or do to switch your thinking? What will it take you to think of those things that are important to you?

I search the Internet quite often for opportunities. On the Internet, when you search for "opportunity", the majority of sites you will get are those of an attached business opportunity. Dictionary.com shows the definition for opportunity as: "a situation or condition favorable for attainment of a goal." Merriam-Webster.com show opportunity as: "A favorable juncture of circumstance."

One of my favorite quotes about opportunity: "The golden opportunity you are seeking is in yourself. It is not in your environment, it is not in luck or chance, or the help of others; it is in yourself alone." - Orison Swett Marden
And here's another one by the same author: "If you do not feel yourself growing in your work and your life broadening and deepening, if your task is not a perpetual tonic to you, you have not found your place. "

To sum it up, this has been what I've been trying to arm you with.

If you are the butcher, the baker or the candle stick maker, it makes no difference to me. What matters most is that you are content in your life doing so!

Boundless opportunities exist: take one and sieze the moment. Do something, however big or small; just do not sit still. There are a billion more products to be invented; their are opportunities to be siezed, make it happen....and no matter what, do not sit still!
